The best of the very basic, Banana Cafe has a choice of individual bungalows or adjoined bamboo rooms overlooking the river, although the view is slightly obscured by banana palms and other foliage. Bungalows are connected by a maze of planked wood and are among the cleanest in Muang Ngoi, of a generous size, and have clean bed sheets. A large shared balcony is dotted with hammocks for lazing. The owner is very friendly and will adopt you like her own. When she goes out of town cleanliness levels drop a little.
